The “Center of Informational Technologies in Finance” was formed on 06.02.2018, based on the Government Decision nr. 125, as a result of the reorganization process of the following Governmental Institutions: „Fintehinform”, „Fiscservinform” and „Vamservinform”. The reorganization process was carried out through the transformation of the Governmental Institution „ Fintehinform” into CITF and the merging of the State-owned Enterprise „Fiscsevinform” and Satet-owned Enterprise „Vamservinform” with CITF. The reorganization process was finalized on 1 August 2018, with all the necessary modifications introduced into the cadastral documents, as well as the founding documents of CTIF.
The institution was created in the context of government reform of the state management system in order to optimizer the functions and services provided by the previously reorganized state enterprises “Fintehinform”, “Fiscservinform” and “Vamservinform”.
The State Enterprise „Fintehinform" operated between June 2005 and July 2018, with the main objective of managing and developing information systems for administering public finances. The SE „Fiscservinform", operated between September 2008 and July 2018, was managing and developing the integrated fiscal information system of the State Tax Service and electronic tax services. The main objective of SE „Vamservinform", which operated between March 2011 and July 2018, was to administer and ensure the functioning of the information systems of the Customs Service and its subdivisions.
On 1 October 2018, the Ministry of Finance had formally established the professional celebration day of the PI “Center for Information Technologies in Finance” founding, through the Order no. 165 of October 1, 2018. The decision was taken upon the request of the CITF staff, as on October 1, 2018 it was the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Finance’s Computing Center, which subsequently changed its status several times and, by Government Decision no. 125 of 6 February 2018, was transformed in CITF.
